Samuel R Mansell -
Guardsman 12851, King’s Company, 1st Battalion, Grenadier Guards, killed in action between 20th and 26th October 1914.
Commemorated at the Menin Gate, Ypres.
Samuel was born in about 1887 at Great Bridge, Staffordshire, the son of Thomas and Mary Mansell. His is the brother of Thomas Mansell (below) and husband to Laura M Mansell (nee Hayne). They were married in 1st 1/4 of 1911.
Samuel had enlisted into the Grenadier Guards years prior to the commencement of World War 1. In 1911 he is already shown as being a married soldier, serving with the Grenadier Guards and based at Wellington Barracks, St James Park, Westminster.

James Glyndwr Williams - formerly South Wales Borderers and Dorset Regiment.
A newspaper article dated 25th January 1919 reports the death of 23 year old James Glyn Williams, son of Mr James Williams of 5, Railway Street, Trelewis. James joined the Dorset Regiment in 1915 and was sent home in 1917 but recalled in 1918 and drafted into the South Wales Borderers but discharged as unfit for service in September 1918.
