Born in Tipton, enlisted in Leicester, resided in Anstey, Leicestershire
Died 26th April 1918, buried at Ferme-Olivier Cemetery, Belgium. Plot 1, Row B, Grave 3

Remembered by his grand-daughter, Pauline Dawkins.

Arthur John Clayton,
Private 73710,
2nd Battalion, Royal Welsh Fusiliers

Enlisted in Porth, Rhondda, resided in Treherbert, Rhondda.
Died 9th May 1918, buried at Senlis Communal Cemetery Extension, France, Plot I.C.3.

Son of William Clayton, coffinmaker in New Tredegar (1901) and Emily Clayton, nee Davies.

Remembered by Ian Meredith of Treherbert, grandson of Arthur’s sister Alice May Meredith.

Patrick Murphy, D.C.M.
Private 14496, 1st Battalion, South Wales Borderers

A brother to James Murphy who is on the Tredegar memorial pages.
Killed in action on 10th November 1917 and commemorated at Tynecot Memorial, Belgium. He was 47 years old.

Patrick was awarded the Distinguished Conduct Medal and his medals are displayed at the South Wales Borderers museum in Brecon, Wales.

Remembered by his Great niece, Elizabeth Harris who has kindly supplied the information and photographs.
